As our pets age there is an unfortunate possibility that they may be diagnosed with cancer. Depending on the type of cancer, there are different treatment options available and sometimes our pets can continue to live a good quality of life.
Treatment and palliative options will be discussed. We will not pressure your family to pursue treatment, however, the Animal Cancer Centre at the Ontario Veterinary College is always available for consultation and referral. Some treatment protocols can be done right here in our hospital. Our goal is always to do what is best for your pet and your family—sometimes that is treatment, often it is palliative care to maintain quality of life and alleviate pain.
